Last night 4YE was lucky enough to attend the World Premiere of the new David Tennant film What We Did On Our Holiday. The movie which is written by Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkins, the comic minds behind the British comedy Outnumbered also stars Rosamund Pike and living legend Billy Connolly. The premise of the movie is that Doug and Abi McLeod, played by Tennant and Pike, are taking their three children to visit their grandfather Gordie, played by Connolly, for his 75th birthday.  The one small

Martin Freeman Is Powerful and Vicious in Jamie Lloyd’s Dystopic “Richard III”

It has to be said that the last 12 months has been pretty awesome for amazing productions of various Shakespeare plays here in London. We have had Tom Hiddleston and Mark Gatiss in Coriolanus at the Donmar Warehouse, and David Tennant in Richard II at The Barbican. The current hottest Shakespeare play in town right now is Richard III at The Trafalgar Studios which stars Sherlock’s Martin Freeman in the title role. The play is part of the highly successful Trafalgar Transformed season and Jamie

The Doctor Goes all “Oceans Eleven” in “Time Heist” with Mixed Results

Welcome back Whovians to our weekly Doctor Who recap.  This week’s episode was definitely very different to the episodes of the past weeks.  Time Heist found the Doctor and Clara pulling of an Oceans Eleven style heist on the most impregnable bank in the Universe. What you need to know: So there we have it, everyone lives happily ever after.  I will admit this wasn’t my favourite episode of the season so far, I found it quite laborious in places however I do love a good happy ending. Doctor Who Christmas Special Will Showcase The Best of British Talent with Casting Announcement

We are racing through Season 8 of Doctor Who with people still getting used to Peter Capaldi’s Time Lord, and now we have our first news on the Christmas episode, which started filming this week. The rumour mill is already running at high speed, debating whether or not Jenna Coleman will be leaving the show during the episode, and only time will tell if these rumours are true.  Personally, I would not be overly disappointed if the upcoming festive episode means waving goodbye to The Impossible

Meera Syal Joins Cast of “Broadchurch” Season 2

For me one of the TV highlights of the last 12 months had to be Broadchurch, the multi award winning crime drama which featured former Doctor Who star David Tennant and Olivia Colman.  The series was a worldwide hit, and as a result Fox have remade the drama for the American Fall season as Gracepoint, which sees David Tennant playing yet another detective. Here in the UK, filming on the second season of Broadchurch is underway.  Tennant and Colman are reprising their roles, as is fellow Doctor

Alexander Armstrong to Voice Danger Mouse in New BBC Reboot

When the BBC announced that they were planning to bring back Danger Mouse back in June, I was incredibly nervous. I make no secret of my love for good old DM and his hamster sidekick Penfold, in fact I still can’t walk past a t-shirt if it has them on it. Generally, when reboots happen they are very rarely as good as they were the first time around, and I was apprehensive in case they decided to make the new version of this classic cartoon just too polished.  This doesn’t look to be the case as

Have We Got the First Glimpse of Twisty the Clown Killer in New AHS: Freak Show News

We are getting closer to the premiere of American Horror Story: Freak Show and the news just keeps coming. First up we have a new image which some people are suggesting may be the first look at Twisty the Clown Killer (played by John Carroll Lynch), however I am not so sure.  As you can see from the photo below, we certainly have an incredibly scary looking clown (but to be honest I find all clowns unsettling, well apart from Krusty the Clown that is). Part of the reason I am not sure it is Twi

“Don’t Look Round” and ‘Listen’ in This Week’s Episode of Doctor Who

Over the years Steven Moffat has told us his tips for survival in the Whoverse over the years.  First of all we were told not to blink when we first met the Weeping Angels in “Blink” and now we can add “Don’t Look Round” following the events in this week’s episode of the show.  I have to say this was a classic Moffat episode; it was creepy, it was scary without being gory and there were a few things that made me gasp out loud and go “what has just happened”.
